HansenGroup, Northern Europe’s leading independent commercial windows, curtain walling and metal doors specialist, has chosen Rochdale’s impressive Sandbrook Business Park for the new headquarters of its UK operations.

The decision has seen HansenGroup UK’s businesses – HansenFacades and AccentHansen – relocate to fully serviced 8,300 sq. ft. premises in the business park’s two-storey Cedar House building.

Significant growth plans

“HansenGroup UK’s previous site in Oldham was too small and not in a great location,” comments Tomas Andersen, COO of HansenGroup. “With significant growth plans for our UK operations, it was time to find a more suitable HQ. We required a base that not only reflected the high standards of HansenGroup products, but also was convenient for employees and offered room for further expansion.”

Excellent facilities and a first-class location

With the help of Rochdale Development Agency, HansenGroup UK narrowed down its search to a small number of business premises, selecting Sandbrook Business Park for its excellent facilities, lower accommodation costs and convenient location at the end of the A627(M).

Considering the needs of employees

“The very last thing we wanted to do by moving our UK HQ was to inconvenience our employees,” adds Tomas Andersen. “Although most live locally, several travel from further afield, from Merseyside and Yorkshire. With easy access to the M62 via the A627(M), Sandbrook Business Park offered the ideal location. Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency were also able to make the move as smooth as possible through a number of incentives and support packages.”

Securing new projects

Since relocating to Rochdale’s Sandbrook Business Park, HansenGroup UK has secured several new key projects in Greater Manchester and across the UK. These, in turn, have accelerated the organisation’s recruitment drive for skilled personnel.

Recruiting skilled personnel

“The plan was to increase our Rochdale workforce by at least ten employees over the next few years,” continues Tomas Andersen. “Recent business successes, however, mean HansenGroup UK has already taken on two experienced systems designers in Rochdale, as well as a business apprentice through Rochdale Training. A new commercial manager has just been appointed and further job opportunities are in the pipeline. HansenGroup UK is also working with Rochdale Training regarding future apprenticeship opportunities. With a skilled local workforce, Sandbrook Business Park is ideally placed for recruiting additional local employees when required. The office is located in attractive grounds and is close to shops and leisure facilities, which are already being well used by our staff.”

“More skilled employment opportunities for borough” – Richard Farnell

“I am delighted that HansenGroup UK has chosen to relocate to Rochdale,” said Council Leader, Richard Farnell, on his visit to the business on Wednesday, 3rd February 2016. “HansenGroup UK has exciting plans for the future, which will undoubtedly bring more skilled employment opportunities to our borough. Through a wide range of initiatives, Rochdale Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency are committed to helping organisations of all sizes to move to the borough – to enjoy greater business success and bring further prosperity to the Rochdale area.”
