Parking in all Rochdale town centre council car parks and metered on street bays will be free during Rochdale Feel Good Festival on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September.
The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre Car Park will be free on both days of the festival from 8am to 6pm.
Festival partner Hopwood Hall College is also offering free parking from 7am on Saturday 5 September until 7am on Sunday 6 September.
It is hoped the free parking will encourage shoppers to visit the town during the festival and to show support for the event as well as for local retailers and businesses.
Council Leader Richard Farnell said:
"There’s always a good atmosphere in town during the festival and we’ve got a great line-up of events as well as all the shops, restaurants and bars. This is all about helping people to spend more time enjoying them during a weekend which is so important to businesses. While the free parking should encourage visitors to the town centre, there's also great public transport available, including frequent trams, buses and trains.”
Rochdale Feel Good Festival is on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, promising another showcase of entertainment, food and culture.
