Metrolink Testing - July 2013

posted 8 Jul 2013, 03:50 by Rochdale TC

Work to bring Metrolink to Rochdale town centre is progressing well. I am writing to make you aware of overnight works required as part of the overall testing programme for the overhead power lines installed along the route.

This overnight work is due to take place on several evenings in July, currently anticipated to be the 9th,

10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th, and the also weekend of 20th and 21st of July, however these dates may change as work progresses. The overnight work will be undertaken between the hours of midnight and 7am during engineering hours when there are no passenger services in operation to Rochdale Railway Station stop.

The work will take place along the route of the Rochdale town centre Metrolink extension, from the railway station to Smith Street. We do not anticipate this work causing disturbance to local residents, however you may see workers and equipment on site during these times.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the installed overhead line equipment is to be considered as "live at all times".
