Rochdale Pioneers Museum, Aldi & Police Station

Rochdale Cooperative Museum Toad Lane

Rochdale is the birthplace of the modern co-operative movement and was declared the World Capital of Co-operatives in 2012. The Rochdale Pioneers Museum, on Toad Lane close to the town centre, celebrates this heritage.

The Rochdale Pioneers Museum is housed in the original building where the Pioneers opened their doors for trading for the first time on 21 December 1844 sparking a business revolution.
Work to transform and update the Museum and create new visitor facilities and learning spaces is now complete. New displays will incorporate images and objects from the National Co-operative Archive and specialist staff will work with schools, colleges and the local community to share this legacy.

The Museum is now open. For more information visit theRochdale Pioneers Museum website
